Great job so far!! Ms. Fougs and I love the responses and are so impressed by them!
This year is going to be amazing, we can already tell!!
Here are a few reminders/suggestions (after all, they couldn't hurt):
1. Try to stay around the 250 word post limit. That may make a difference in how you make your points, and it may make you more judicious in your organization strategy and/or word choice.

2. We are grading your responses in the following categories: Knowledge and Ideas; Examples, Explanation, and Logic; Organization; and Style and Grammar (see the first comment for more details about grading)

3. I'd love to see conversation after the initial responses are posted. If someone asks you a question, try to respond. Further others' points and get some dialogue going.

The next group of prompts will be posted tomorrow. Enjoy, Darlings!!!

Just so you know, for each of the categories on the grading rubric, there are five score points (1 being the worst and 5 being the best). Each score point has a description of what that level of work looks like. We read your response and then see which descriptor best fits your work.

I've copied below the descriptors for the top two scores in each of the categories, since I know you guys are looking for top marks. This is just to give you a more firm idea of what we're looking for.

Knowledge and Ideas
5: Reflects thorough knowledge and understanding of the topic; ideas are insightful and reflect a deep personal response
4: Reflects good knowledge of the topic; ideas are substantial

Examples, Explanations, and Logic
5: Fully supported by precise and relevant references; logically, clearly, and convincingly explained
4: Supported by relevant and well-chosen references; appropriately, validly, and logically explained

Organization
5: Uses appropriate transitions between and within paragraphs for consistently clear, smooth, and logical relationships among ideas
4: Is logical and appropriate for content, but not as smooth as a 5

Style and Grammar
5: A pleasure to read -- graceful, rich word choice, concise, rare/no errors
4: Clear, shows sentence variety, interesting and precise word choice, no significant errors
